Samsung Electronics to Replace Nokia as the Biggest Smartphone Manufacturer

Nomura Securities predicts that Apple will overtake Nokia in the next quarter, and Nokia’s mobile phone ranking will retreat to third place.

Nomura Securities analyst wrote in the research note, "Nokia launched the Communicator 9000 mobile phone in 1996, leading the smart phone market. For 14 years, Nokia has been firmly seated in the boss, but now it seems that Nokia is destined to make way."

Compared with Apple's iPhone and Google's Android phone, Nokia has lost its initiative; in the low-end mobile phone market, it faces fierce competition from Asian competitors.
